St. Roch CDC Opens Restoration Thrift on St. Claude Avenue. 

New Orleans, LA, March 12, 2015 – New Orleans has gained an exciting new option for shoppers wishing to maintain their lifestyle on an increasingly tight budget while helping others in need. St. Roch CDC, established in 2008, has recently opened its long awaited thrift store, Restoration Thrift, at 2025 St. Claude Avenue at the corner of Frenchmen Street.

“We have something for everyone, from vintage treasures to the most current fashion

trends…from the unique and unusual to everyday necessities, such as clothing, shoes, jewelry, books, household items, sporting goods, furniture and much much more,” remarked store manager Joy Williams.

Donations of clothing, shoes accessories, housewares, furniture, books and other items are needed and the net proceeds from the sales supports Restoration Thrift’s quadruple bottom line to:

• Create jobs so that those who have had challenges entering the work force can do so with dignity and support.
• Create a diversified funding stream to support organizational initiatives including job training, financial literacy, affordable housing and small business development.
• Provide an excellent and affordable shopping experience for customers.
• Provide opportunities for people to give back through in-kind donations and volunteer service.
